Explore the Local Sights & Attractions
The Cotswolds is one of the most ‘quintessentially English’ and unspoiled regions of England where you cannot help but fall in love with its uniqueness. The Redesdale Arms is an ideal base to explore the area.
Popular with both the English themselves and international visitors from all over the world, the area is renowned for rolling green hills (‘wolds’). This outstanding countryside with river valleys, water meadows and beech woods, sleepy ancient limestone villages, historic market towns is so ‘typically English’ and some time has stood still for over 300 years.
The Redesdale Arms is located right in the centre of Moreton-in-Marsh which straddles the historic Roman Fosse Way (road) which stretches right the way from Lincoln to Exeter, passing right through the middle of the Cotswolds.

Explore on Foot
Moreton-in-Marsh is an ideal base for exploring the local countryside on foot. The town’s train station with direct line to London Paddington, makes the town a popular choice as a start and end point of walking holidays.
The Redesdale Arms is also frequently used by many walking tour companies and from spring to autumn many of our guests are on walking or cycling tours.
We have a selection of maps with popular and less challenging walks for those wanting a more casual stroll through the countryside. See our walking page for some ideas of routes and paths in the area.
Cycling in the Cotswolds
The Cotswolds is one of England’s most popular Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (ANOB). What better way to explore the local countryside than by cycling.
Moreton-in-Marsh is a popular start and end point for many cycling tour companies. However if your looking for a more leisurely ride you could arrange a hire bike for your visit. There are several nearby bike hire companies and we have facilities for chaining up bikes at night.
